Rebel Wilson recently shared her thoughts on her reasons for believing that Adele hasn’t been her greatest admirer. “Some actresses would get offended if I called them plus-size in this book, so I have to be careful with what I say,” the Pitch Perfect star recalled in her book, memoir Rebel Rising, per E! Online. “This is the reason why I think Adele is a bit envious of me. There was a point where she was larger and some people would think we were each other.”
However, the 44-year old said that the notion that Adele did not like being compared with “Fat Amy” was purely her opinion. “I am assuming, because to be fair I’ve never asked her,” Wilson stated, stating her belief that Adele, the “Rolling in the Deep” singer “always quickly turns away from me at the few events where I’ve seen her as if my fatness might rub off on her if I were near her for more than thirty seconds.”
The Bridesmaids actor admitted that people would often mistake her as the award-winning Grammy artist while they visited England and said, “I legit signed an autograph once as Adele at Claridge’s because the people truly thought I was her and wouldn’t leave me alone until I did.”
Wilson was, however, delighted by the comparison, despite the impression that Adele was not thrilled and would rather than anything else to be compared with her “Someone Like You” artist since, as she put her words, “Adele’s f–king awesome.”
The actress previously stated that she was known as a “fat funny character’ that caused Wilson to worry that her weight could limit her acting options in the near future. The actress went on to shed 77 pounds in Ozempic in 2020. Adele admitted that she shed around 100 pounds prior to the event.
Based on her cats star Wilson, she didn’t have the most pleasant experience when she finally got to meet with Adele. Actually, Wilson even described Adele as an “bitchy” person when she first came across her at a celebration after an event at the 2020 Academy Awards.
Although fiancee Ramona Agruma has been supportive in her autobiography, she’s concerned about becoming Adele angry in the end. But the way she describes it is as Wilson has said, “Like you’re afraid you’re going to get barred from her concerts or something? I don’t think that’ll happen, babe.”
