Nintendo launched its Summer Game Fest-adjacent Direct with a new Mario & Luigi title: Mario & Luigi Brothership. The last Mario & Luigigame was Bowser’s Inside Story,, which launched in 2009 on Nintendo DS, before being rereleased on 3DS with new content and a brand-new side story in 2018.
In Brothership the Mario Bros take control of their sailing ship and explore a new world filled with islands on their quest to get back to the Mushroom Kingdom. They must use their brotherly love together to overcome obstacles and defeat bosses.
Mario has been releasing a lot of great games in recent years. The Switch is now a great Mario RPG system, thanks to the release of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door in May. This was followed by the Super Mario RPG remake, released in November, and The Origami King for 2020. In February , Nintendo released a Mario and Donkey Kong remake. Super Mario Bros. Wonder is among the top 2023 games.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie was a box-office juggernaut, earning more than $1 billion. A sequel is being planned, with a release date of April 2026.
The Nintendo Switch will launch Mario & Luigi – Brothership on November 7, 2018.
