Fatal Crash Strikes Country Music Artist Ana Paula Vieira After Debut Solo Performances :

Ana Paula Vieria, a Brazilian country singer, was killed along with her boyfriend, Councilman Marcelo Stocco in a head-on crash in Cacoal, in the north of Brazil, last month. The Federal Highway Police confirmed that the 27-year old singer and Stocco, who was a passenger, were killed when their vehicle collided on a highway with a truck on Sunday, 12 May.

Vieria and Stocco had been traveling from Cacoal to Pimenta Bueno after the singer’s last performance earlier in the evening. The vehicle they were in lost control, collided with the tractor-trailer and caused it to flip over on the side. Vieria and Stocco both died in the accident. Authorities confirmed that the driver of tractor was not hurt. The fire department believes that Vieria fell asleep behind the wheel. An investigation is underway.

Vieria was performing at Bar do Bodega, Cacoal. It would be her last performance. The concert was her first solo appearance since Marcio & Ana Paula, which had released such hits as “Chamou de amor, perdi”, “So vem”, (“Just Come”), or “Conta a Verdade”, (“Tell The Truth”), split up on May 3.

Vieria posted a picture on social media of her, her boyfriend and a group friends in the bar. The bar released a statement after the accident. “We didn’t know that his final performance would take place in our house.” A woman who was incredible and special, will forever be remembered. “Rest in peace.”

Vieria had a romantic relationship with Stocco, a member of the Pimenta-Bueno City Council since 2020. At the time of the accident, he was about to finish his first term.
