Paul (9-1) is looking to add another UFC fighter to the list of his victories after defeating Nate Diaz (twice), Anderson Silva, Tyron woodley (twice) & Ben Askren. Mike Perry (0-0) is a heavy handed mixed martial artist whose career was revitalized by a 5-0 record in bare-knuckle fighting. Perry is a UFC alum who has a lot of boxing experience, but also gives up his size. He’s one of the best UFC alumni available to take on Paul. Paul takes a big risk by taking on Perry just four months before his major box office bout with Tyson.

“This is my job.” “I’m here for the fight.” Paul told the press at this week’s final press conference that he loves to risk and take part in big events. Mike Tyson was worried that this fight could jeopardize the biggest fight of his career. It’s the pressure that I enjoy. I won’t slow down for anyone. Mike Perry will not be the one stopping me. I’m heading for the World Championship. “I’m not going to slow down for anyone.”

The undercard of this crossover boxing event is typical, with former and current champions as well as another former UFC athlete looking to make the leap. Amanda Serrano, the undisputed women’s featherweight champ, will be in action in this featured fight. She is taking on Stevie Morgan. Serrano had also been expected to fight on the Tyson show in a rematch against undisputed two division queen Katie Taylor. Serrano was eager to fight before November after the postponement. Her fight in March had fallen through the day before the fight.
