Bobby Lytes is on the road to recovery. Love & Hip Hop star revealed he is ready to lead a sober lifestyle. He announced his decision in a tweet to X (formerly Twitter) with the words: “No blow.” I feel better without that substance. Since I stopped using it, my clarity has improved. The skin has even improved. I have also saved sooooooooo much money. “I’ve been sober for a long time now, but I think that will change this year. Maybe around my birthday. But hey, everything is in moderation. I’m proud myself.”
Lytes, a fiery character on the Miami series and one of its original eight cast members, is known for his fiery personality. He was dating Jeffrey White when he joined the cast. His first season was centered around his feud against White’s former lover, Malik. The show documented his contentious relationships, including Prince’s turbulent friendship.
Lyte’s cousin is the rapper Trina. They have had disagreements as Lyte tried to launch his music career with Trina’s help or lack thereof. He has also had problems with Amara Liz Jojo and Peter Gunz. In Season 3, he was reduced to the role of a show friend rather than a full-time member.
Lyte is no stranger to legal troubles. He was arrested for larceny and probation violations in 2014. He was arrested in 2019 after a fight at a Fort Lauderdale club, according to Starcasm. Lyte has been charged with disorderly conduct and indecency.
In a post on Instagram, which has since been deleted, he wrote: “See! It’s the price you pay for fame. Or fame. Everyone in your business. This industry will rip you apart if you allow it. I know I’m in the public eye and that this is the price I pay. What am I going to do? Rock this bitch. I can’t be broken by anything or anyone !!!”
