One Tree Hill alum Jana Kramer married Allan Russell in a beautiful Scottish ceremony. PEOPLE was the first to hear their wedding story. The couple married on 13 July at Carnell Estate, Scotland. Russell is Scottish. Only 35 friends and family attended this intimate ceremony. This included their blended family, Kramer’s daughter Jolie and son Jace (ages 8 and 5 respectively), and Russell’s son Troy (16 years old) and their son Roman (8 months).

The couple met after Russell sent Kramer a DM on Instagram. He was in England at the time. Kramer was grateful for the gesture.

“He sent me a very sweet message. We started talking on WhatsApp. When I Googled him I thought, “Oh, he is really cute.” Kramer said, “I was thinking,’maybe if he’s ever in the States I’ll take him out on a first date.’

Their first date was in Nashville, Tennessee at Christmastime 2022. Kramer claims that she knew he was her man instantly. Six months after their first meeting, they were engaged.

The children of Kramer played a major role in the ceremony. Jolie was the flower girl. Jace served as ring bearer. Russell’s son Troy was an usher. Roman, along with the other men at the ceremony, wore a Scottish kilt.

The singer and actress didn’t initially plan to have a wedding that included even 35 guests. “I knew I wanted to marry this man. Kramer said that they discussed doing the wedding themselves, but I wanted to make sure Jace and Jolie could see it.

“I have never felt so happy to walk down to the altar with someone. It didn’t even need to be a big event.” The wedding will be small, intimate and exactly what we wanted. The background of our wedding in Scotland is stunning. I only want to marry him and have my closest friends with me. It’s the only thing that matters to our family and us.” Russell said that her decision to hold the ceremony in Scotland showed a great deal of respect for Russell’s heritage.
