Tori Spelling has officially filed for divorce from her husband Dean McDermott. Though it was reported in the summer of 2006 that they had got married in the wedding in 2006, were divorcing, reports that the Beverly Hills, 90210alum has filed the divorce filing. Spelling declares the date they separated as being June 17 2023. The filing includes “standard irreconcilable differences” cited as the reason. But that’s not all, because the actress also wants the court for spousal support, and the court will not allow him to seek the spousal support.
In addition to the full spouse support, Spelling is asking for sole physical custody of the five children, who are minors, as well as shared legal custody. But she’s willing to consider McDermott having the right to visit. It’s not clear if the couple were in agreement on a prenuptial contract however Spelling claimed that their property and assets require to be assessed as the case progresses.
Spelling and McDermott’s romance has been rather rocky lately. In their first divorce announcement, McDermott deleted his post and changed his Instagram bio to express his affection to his wife. The source also said that they didn’t have plans to get divorced. In the months following, McDermott moved out of the home of his ex-wife and the two were noticed enjoying a warm relationship with other people.
However, things haven’t been going well between the two since Dean McDermott revealed in November that he was contemplating suicide following an “drunk and angry” fight with Tori Spelling. While both of them likely came to meet for his son’s operation in the month of December however, it appears that there was not sufficient to maintain their friendship in good standing. It appears that Spelling will take whatever steps necessary to ensure that she gets the most from the divorce. What this could mean to McDermott and the way in which this matter will unfold isn’t clear.
At the very least, Tori Spelling is staying busy amidst the divorce. She appeared in the 2023 short Rapscallion Romance and has two projects in the works. Crime film Kill with Me is set to release later this year, while comedy Trick 2 is currently in development. It’s never easy going through a divorce that is not only in the public eye but also includes kids. Hopefully, everything will work out for Spelling. While this was likely coming for both of them, it still has to be tough.
