Esta TerBlanche has died. She was best known for playing Gillian Andrassy in ” All My Children”. She was 51.

TerBlanche passed away on Thursday, July 25, at her residence, according to County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner. The cause of her death is still under investigation.

Annie Spolianky confirmed the news . She said that TerBlanche is a “wonderful person who loves and cares for others.”

TerBlanche portrayed Gillian, an unruly Hungarian princess on “All My Children”, from 1997 to 2001. Her character was married Ryan Lavery (Cameron Mathison) who took her off life support when she was mistakenly shot by an assassin. TerBlanche appeared in 2011 as Gillian’s Ghost for an episode, as the soap opera ended its four-decade run.

When I returned, it was very emotional for both me and Cameron. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest published on July 13, TerBlanche said, “When we saw eachother, we both began crying.” It was a very touching moment because we hadn’t been together for years.

TerBlanche, born in Rustenberg in the North West Province of South Africa, was born in 1973. She was crowned Miss Teen South Africa 1991.

TerBlanche began her acting career in 1992, when she played Beatrice “Bienkie Naude Hartman” in “Egoli: Place of Gold”, the first South African soapopera. She appeared from 1992 to 1996. She moved to the U.S., where she worked on “All My Children.”

Soap Opera Digest revealed that TerBlanche moved to South Africa after the death of her “All My Children’s” character in 2001. She opened a spa there and collaborated with filmmaker Michael Kastenbaum on documentaries. TerBlanche was living in both South Africa and California at the time of her death.
